Luis Barrios

Instrument: Violin, Viola

Graduated from the Bachelor of Music with a major in Viola Performance by the University of Guadalajara, Mr.Barrios is part of Professor Catherine Consiglio’s studio at the Wichita State University where he is currently pursuing a Masters in Music degree with a major in Chamber music.

He has belonged to several orchestras such as: Mexico Youth Orchestra (OSIM 2009) with which he made two national tours, Guadalajara Youth Symphony Orchestra, Higinio Ruvalcaba Chamber Orchestra and from 2012 to 2019 he was member of the Zapopan Youth Symphony Orchestra.

He has been awarded with a full scholarship in 6 consecutive years from 2013 to be part of the February Festival (formerly known as Scotia bank Northern Lights Music Festival) in Ajijic, Chapala, and Jalisco. As well as playing in the festival orchestra and having a participation with Gyphon Trio on the 2019 festival edition.

He is the current violist of the Janus Quartet with which he has participated in several festivals in Canada.
